The Solo Trail: honest trek guides for people going alone

Why I built a trek guide site for solo travellers in Nepal and India, what it does differently from tour-group content, and how it's made.

  • personal build
  • UX
  • content design

Going alone is a planning problem long before it's a walking problem. Most trek content assumes you're in a group, with a guide who handles everything. I wanted guides written for the person going alone.

The problem

Trek information is written for tour groups. It skips what a solo trekker actually needs to know: the real costs, the safety notes, and what's on you when there's no group.

SEO, design and accessibility, benchmarked against leading travel sites.

  3. 03
